Belgium

The second trip we went on in the last month (May 11th to be exact) was to Bastogne, Belgium.  I must say that our tour guide began the "tour" with very powerful words........."You are standing on sacred grounds.  Many young Americans lost their lives here in WWII."  From there I was captivated with everything I saw.

We got a chance to walk the town of Bastogne; although a quick walk, we enjoyed the sights.

And then it was back on the bus to walk the woods and see foxholes held by the Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge.

Sadly.............the beautiful sunny morning turned into an overcast rainy afternoon.  We didn't bring an umbrella so we had to buy one and the only umbrella in stock at the store we patronized was children's umbrellas.  What to choose, what to choose?
BUMBLE BEE of course:

Through the forest we went:

A foxhole

We came upon a meadow and we couldn't resist the urge to run through it.

Then it was more woods walking:

and more sightseeing on the bus.

Our last sight to see was the Buffalo Farm.

That's it for now my blog buddies.  Until next time, I leave you with this pic we took on the ride back to Baumholder of our son's name on the side of a tour bus that passed us on the autobahn.  How cool is that?

PUG HUGS TO ALL!
