The "THINGY" is a CroPug

I have gotten through the mass production of the the THINGY's I began in October. When I was designing the Thingy I made lots and lots of errors. But like I shared with a friend on FB - the beauty with yarn is that you can unloop it and use it over and over again. When I perfected the pattern for the Thingy - I was able to complete the first piece on November 4, 2011.

I brushed on the last coat of black paint onto its puggy nose and set it on the table to dry and then the phone rang.  It was Lillian, my daughter.  She  told me that my dad was being transported to the hospital and that she would come get me to take me there.

At around 3:00 p.m. on November 4, 2011 my dad passed away.  I look at this Thingy and I connect it with that day.  I am going to keep this little guy forever and ever.  And I'm going to call this design:

Arms Or Would That Be Front Legs?

My Tuesday swiftly went by and I wonder what I did with my time?  Aside from my daily chores around the house I did mail off two packages.

Sit Pug Sit went off to Canada

And this Pretty Pink Hat went to Utah.

I also managed to post two neck warmers

Both are available now in my Etsy Shop PADDYWAK PUGS

While Shady and MA-kytah layed around

I got working on arms...........or would that be front legs?
Red, Blue. Brown, White, Green, Black, Purple
So so many arms......or would that be front legs.

Whew, there were short ones, skinny ones, fat ones, long ones.  When I finished them I began to look at these containers again:

Think, Think, Think

What do you think?

PUG HUGS TO ALL

The Eyes Are the Mirror of the Soul

Look into my eyes

NO.........not her eyes.  My eyes.
It's me MA-kytah.  Ummm my harness is a bit crooked because I was playing with Shady.  We were chasing balls.  Check out the action shots Ms. Karen took with her Canon (on Sports mode):

Well she needs to practice some more because in my opinion..........these are blurry.

Anywho........we stopped playing because Miss Karen went to work on some eyes

No - not her eyes. The eyes of them thingy's she has been crocheting.  She has a whole basket full of thingy's.

She prepped her table to paint.

And paint she did.

She let them little critters sit to dry and then I caught her staring at these things going "HMMMMMMM......think think"
Can anyone imagine or guess what Miss Karen was getting all Winnie the Pooh about?

Then she thought............while the paint and paint brushes were out why not paint?  And paint she did.

We didn't get to ride the basket today because it was raining outside and Miss Karen wasn't about to train us to ride in the rain.  Boo.

Well, that's it for this round of blogging.  I had fun being with you today Blog Buddies of Miss Karen.  Until next time, I leave you the freaky pics of Shady chasing balls.
Look at them eyeballs

This isn't a pug - this is a black bat.

One Month After

I posted a blog today and it showed December 3rd but as I post - it is actually December 4th here on Guam. So in the mornings when I post it's yesterday in America and today in Guam and when I post in the evenings we are almost finished with today and going into tomorrow and today is just getting started in America. Now isn't that something?

Anyway today is December 4th (now) as I post this blog and it is exactly one month since dad passed away. We all miss him very much. We made a little Christmas tree display for his crypt. It was a hot tropical day when we placed it before him.

Merry Christmas Dad.

After the cemetary we headed down to Big Navy Base and at the Exchange this nice sailor asked us if we wanted to donate new toys to the Toys For Tots drive. We donated two toys and we sure felt good about that.

Well the snouts are done:

I will be painting and detailing them to look just like MA-kytah's puggy snout:

Pug Palace Bustle

Returning from our morning walk today MA-kytah and I were tickled when a visitor ran into the PUG PALACE.

It was SOJO.  He belongs to my little sister who lives next door.  MA-kytah and I figured SOJO was boycotting his palace because of the return of Byson who was on a two week vacation in the island yard of Chandiha Street.  Yep, Byson was sent on this vacation because Ella, little sister's granddaughter was visiting.  A big baby Byson - who is a pit bull - just doesn't go well with a cute little infant.  Besides Ella is little sister's first grandchild and she is just the cutest cupcake.

Anyway, little sister came over to escort SOJO back to his palace but he just wanted to continue to explore the Pug Palace.
He eventually went home and we continued with the bustle of Sunday at the Pug Palace.

Can you figure out what these are?
WOO HOO so many little crocheted thingy's.

It didn't take long to whip em up even when there is a pug pile on Karen on the couch.

How about these dilly wackers......can you figure out what they are?

OKAY...........I'll share a little bit more:

My my they are coming along just fine.  I'll share more in the days to come.

Outside the pug palace this past week I continued training the pugs to ride in the bike basket I bought from Cynthia's Twigs.  I love how people stop and smile as I ride by with snorting pug(s).  Not very many people ride bikes on Guam.  It's just toO humid.  But not me.  I love to ride the bike and so do the puggies.

That's it for now my Blog Buddies.  Until next time - I leave you a pic of my granddaughter Tammy......with Shady:

Crocheting - The Latest Development

I was in this state of mind when Dad passed away on 11/4/11:

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go.

It's been almost a month and with each passing day I painfully learn to let go.  Despite my grief my fam bam kept me going..........like Zach who always gives the PUGS A HUG everyday:

And Kin who plays with the pugs when he isn't playing soccer:

Kylie who loves to take photos.......be it her cell phone or my Canon:

My grandsons who helped clean the floors:

Lilly who celebrated her birthday in November.  Her cake was beautiful and delicious:

Tammy - who strives to keep the kitchen smelling of holiday baking.  I don't have a pic of her but I will make sure I take photos and blog about her recipes.

I rediscovered my love for crocheting and crochet I did with a vengence.  Look at what my size 5.0 crochet needle has been looping:
Lined up the mass crochet production.

Came up with these tube looking thingy's.

Crocheted smaller tube thingy's and sewed them onto the bottom.

Oh wow!  they sit up.

Hmmmm let me add some collars

More collars.

I'll share more of the crochet marathon in the days to come.  In the meantime - I leave you with this pic of Kin, playing goalie at the high school championship - Guam High School vs St. John's.  Umm we didn't win this game.  Boo
