SOMETHING YELLOW IS BREWING

Yellow is sunshine - something we get a lot of here in Guam.

Bright yellow creates excitement when red or orange is too intense like for this little chicken

Yellow is cheerful and this Pyrex bowl served many cheerful meals.

Yellow can suggest freshness as in this little guy I'm creating:

More to come in the days ahead.  I'll share, share, share!!!

Living in Guam always puts us a day ahead of the United States.  When I tune into blog my blog buddies are wishing all Happy Valentines Day.............and I didn't even blog that yesterday (my bad).  I was feeling bah-humbug and lonely like Max

But I did take time out from missing my husband to pose with a box of colorful Valentine cookies.

And then my grandchildren gave me a candy bouquet with hugs and kisses.  Now that alone makes loneliness go away.

BITS & PIECES

I wanted to explore the possibilities with "RED" and I have in the making thus far these little pieces that fell onto MA-kyta:

Oh Lookey.  The red pieces are on her head:

Okay - enough fooling around.  The red little things are grouped here:

and sewn on here:

NEXT - beads..........lot's and lot's of them too:

Hmmm - looks a bit odd........but forward I move on this creation:

pug ears.  Just two:

Pug Snout details:

That's it for now folks.  I'll show more of my exploration of "RED" in the coming days.

Look at what I added to my collection.  These little pillows of victorian pugs came from a seller on ebay who once lived here on Guam.
I simply adore them.

My dear friend Melissa of Pug Notes posted a blog yesterday asking what are we doing this weekend.  Well, I shared my "RED" adventure and such.  Cooked a yummy breakfast, lunch and dinner for my boys and their friends.  And then off they went.  One to a school dance and the other to a BBQ.  So I am alone on a Saturday night.  (sighing)  I sure do miss my husband.  I am certain that if he were here, we would probably host a dinner for the fam bam or go to a movie.  But he is in Afghanistan right now and I pray every moment for his safety.  Until he returns home and while the boys are at their activities, my company is Max, Shady, MA-kytah and Abbey.

I leave this pic for you to find the 16 year old.  Can you see him?  Pug Hugs to all.

PUGS PUGS EVERYWHERE

I am just loving the pieces I have been creating.  I steered away from plain fabric that I would stain with tea and coffee and then dry in the sun.  Instead I visited the fabric store and took my 16 year old with me.  He was a good sport because we were in the store for over an hour.  Yards and yards of fabric.  I went crazy.  So up first................WALLA - PRETTY PINK PUGS:

I'm finally adding pug pieces to my home decor and I am loving how it is turning out.  Next up are these cute pugs made with black and white fabric.  Absolutely lovely but I'm not done with them yet.  Here is a peek:

Whew them hind legs were a struggle but I sewed them babies on and I love the way these little rascals perch.

I so want to own antique pugs that I see on ebay.  But the bucks that they are going for are out of my league.  But one day..just  one day I will own a pair.  In the meantime I will have to do with this substitute:
I am excited to finish the set.  The front legs were so challenging.  Pinning and standing...............pinning and standing.  I spent so much time trying to make them gravity friendly.

Here is another antique inspired set.  True Blue Babies:

A year ago I went shopping in the seamstress district of Hong Kong and I picked up a yard of feather edgings.  BOO-YA - I put the feathers on this piece and it sits amongst my pug collection:

I must get back to sewing pug ears now.  Until then my BLOG BUDDIES - I throw out Pug Hugs to all.

Welcome MA-KYTA

My daughter Lillian showed me a female pug on line and she was for sell by a family who couldn't take care of her anymore.  I fell in love with her.  She is 3-years old and her name is MA-Kyta.  She is adjusting with the transition because she was the only pet in the home and in our home...........well with two pugs and Abby, two sons, and 4 grandchildren - noisy, busy, lively, active, loving - that just about describes my home environment.  We just had to photograph ourselves with our new fam-bam member:

WITH TAMMY

WITH MUMMY

But then all pugs in the house wanted photos too:

MAXAZRIA
(He just didn't want to keep still.)

SHADY

The latest excitement at work was the launching of the Lexus Signature Series ES exclusively for Guam.  My, my what a beautiful car.  Here I am with my colleagues at the launch:

As much as I love pugs I don't have any of my pieces I made in the past.  I would design, sew, embellish and sell my pug pieces and I have none for my enjoyment at home.  So, I have been making pieces to adorn my living room (to start with).  I'll share pics soon.  For now - check out these pieces.  The male will be Chesters and the females will be Chesterretes. he he he.  I love how they are turning out.

MORE TO COME.  UNTIL THEN MY BLOG BUDDIES - I THROW OUT HUGE PUG HUGS TO ALL.

Happy Hump Day

Wednesday's always begin early for me because of the weekly sales training at work.  The team takes turn in doing ice-breakers and I really enjoyed the activity today.  We had to dance and then do the limbo.  I bowed out of the limbo because I was wearing a dress ha ha ha.

There was also a part 2 to an ice-breaker we did at the beginning of January.  We were given a roster of the sales team and the managers.  Next to each name we had to write something positive about the person.  I had no problem doing my task of writing good things about everyone especially since I knew everyone.  Anyway, the positive comments were compiled for each of us and I was deeply touched with all the positive things my colleagues had to say about me.  I'm a great listener, tender hearted, understanding, sweet, nice, dedicated, easy to approach, loyal, friendly, unique dress code, guiding star, and protects interest.  WOW.  I have and always will cherish the fine folks at Atkins Kroll.  They truly are a team of professionals who are passionate about what they do.

Okay - enough of work............look at how my Patrice Pug pieces are turning out.  I added the designer pug snout last night and trying to do something different with the ears.

Here is a pair of pugs I designed and I continue to add details to:

This set sits on my chest below the flat screen.  I'll post a pic of the pug decor later.

Until the next time I blog - I throw out massive pug hugs to all.

Long Time No Blog

Oh dear. Life got so busy since the last time I posted a blog.  All the holidays happened, a birthday happened (wink wink), a new year creeped up on me................but one thing is for sure, I kept creating my pugs.

Here is a peek of what I worked on this past weekend.  I am going full detail now inclusive of pug butts (tee hee).

Work has taken a lot of my time and sent me home exhausted.  Our latest sales campaign is the adventures of Mega Man and his Mega Mutt.  Here is the Mega Mutt - Isn't he cute?

Until next time my friends - I throw out pug hugs to all.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

As promised - here is a better photo of my Halloween door at work. My theme "Butterflies Amongst the Pumpkin Patch"

What a lovely sparkly green butterfly.

Nice yellow and black butterfly.

I'll post more pics as the theme is spiced up especially before Halloween.

I love Thursday's at work because I have a team building session with my staff. The whole program is called Heartbeat; however, I add a little more to it.
"How Well Do I Engage with my Team?"
Well.............I do engage with my team but during our session we have to share our hobby or skill that is non-work related. Today I got to share my passion of designing and making pug dolls, pillows and ornaments.

My staff was fascinated with how I do my hobby. And then I let them have it!!!! It was a race!!!
Who can thread a needle the fastest.

The Tense Concentration.

The aggressive concentration.

The determination to aim and focus.

To the VICTOR goes the VICTORY!!!! Anita is the winner.

And then I let them experience working with beads. Nadine with the small tiny tiny tiny beads.

Melissa trying her best.

Arianne and her determination. So admirable.

Anita was sewing away. She did a great job.

Steady, Steady.

It was a good session. But then my staff surprised me with this cupcake cake. Aren't they sweet? It was bosses day and they gave me a cake.

As another posting comes to end I leave you with this pic, my Blog Buddies - the man on the left is my husband. I miss him dearly. Until next time........
